Preventive Wellness Care for Your Pet
Healthy pets are happy pets and preventive care can go a long way to helping your pet live a happy and healthy life. At Englishtown Vet MD, we strongly believe that pets are at their best when they get regular wellness check-ups.
Routine wellness exams are an essential part of tracking your pet’s growth and overall health. When you bring your pet to Englishtown Vet MD for a wellness exam, Dr. Kwacz or Dr. Palmiotto will conduct a "nose-to-tail" physical exam to check for any illness, infection, or disease. We also answer any questions you might have on how to best take care of your animal companion at home. We want this experience to be as catered to your pet as possible.
What to Expect
In addition to a full physical exam we will discuss the following with you during your wellness visit:
-
Vaccinations
Initial vaccinations and regular booster shots can help protect your pet from serious disease. We offer a wide range of vaccinations:
Dog Vaccinations:- Canine adenovirus (CAV)
- Canine bordetella
- Canine parvovirus (CPV)
- Canine distemper Virus (CDV)
- Canine leptospira
- Canine rabies
- Lyme disease
Cat Vaccines:- Feline calicivirus (FCV)
- Feline herpesvirus (FHVI)
- Feline panleukopenia Virus (FPV)
- Feline rabies
We can also order specific vaccine selections if required. -
Parasite Control
Keeping your pets safe from parasite attack is important to their health as well as your family’s health. We help keep your pets safe from disease caused by fleas, ticks, worms and other parasites. We also offer heart health and fecal sample testing to check for pest-related disease. -
Diagnostic Testing
Digital X-rays, lab screenings, bloodwork, and other diagnostic tests provide a full picture of your pet’s internal health. The results of diagnostic testing often help identify early stages of disease, which then leads to better treatment options and improved recovery. -
Microchipping
At Englishtown Vet MD, we offer microchipping, which helps you locate your pet quickly if he or she becomes lost. Microchipping is a quick and relatively pain-free procedure, during which a small scannable chip is placed under your pet’s skin. This chip contains important information about you and your pet, such as names and addresses, and can be scanned by shelters and animal hospitals around the country.
Our clinic uses HomeAgain® microchipping, which offers instant registration for you and your pet. To learn more, please see the following interview with Dr. Kwacz. -
